Ginger Kashayam

A cold is a viral infection of the upper respiratory track. When cold “catches” you, you need to take plenty of rest in bed and also drink plenty of fluids. This ginger Kashayam will help to reduce your cold and throat infection.

Ingredients:
Ginger                                - 2 inch
Lemon                                – 1/2
Cinnamon stick                     – 1 small (broken)
Nutmeg powder                    – 2 to 3 pinches
Cardamom crushed                - 2 no
Cloves                                  - 3 to 4
Dry Ginger powder                   – ½ tsp
Jaggery or brown sugar            - 1 tbsp
Water                                    - 2 cups (500 mL)

Method:
  • Juice the ginger and lemon.
  • Place above juices in the pan. Add water& all above ingredients (except nutmeg, cardamom powders).
  • Heat it. Gently simmer the stove and filter the Kashayam and add nutmeg and cardamom powder.
  • Drink it hot.
Note:This Kashayam will help to reduce your cold and boost your immune system
